A plan worthy of a place in the global hall of shameless ideas of the 21st century: turning the rubble of Gaza into a Middle East Riviera, with white beaches, shiny skyscrapers and state-of-the-art high-tech hubs.
The Washington Post reveals it: the cast includes Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Tony Blair (always available for some “reconstruction” gig), and Jared Kushner, Trump’s omnipresent son-in-law.
The mechanism sounds as cynical as it is simple: a U.S. trusteeship for at least ten years, cash incentives for Palestinians willing to “voluntarily” step aside, and a luxury tourist-industrial complex built over one of the world’s most devastated territories.
The logic is ruthless: from tragedy, business. From ruins, resorts. From blood, beach cocktails.
Not a new idea, but rarely served with such candor. While civilians in Gaza struggle just to survive, the global power salons are sketching a glossy postcard of yachts, casinos, and convention centers.
A “visionary” plan perhaps, but one that ignores a basic truth: people cannot be bought with dollars, and rubble cannot become beaches without justice, memory, and dignity.
