Not everything that smells bad in Argentine politics is corruption. Sometimes, it’s just aged sausage.
This week, the Justicialist Party gave us yet another surreal postcard. Instead of marching to Comodoro Py (Federal Courts) to demand the release of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, they rerouted to Comodoro Py (Bragado) — the national capital of dry sausage. A place where the chorizo is honest and the politicians… less so.
And so, the former president has been unofficially crowned National Queen of Dry Sausage. No need for a vote — just the Peronist instinct for theatrical improvisation. When the legal GPS fails, they follow the scent.
“Here, sausage doesn’t have immunity. It’s cured, displayed, and eaten,” declared a proud butcher.
Meanwhile, judges raise their wine glasses and shuffle through spicy case files, seasoned with delay and nostalgia.
