🇬🇧 Deaths That Raise Questions: When Coincidence Repeats, Justice Falls Silent

BlogDiario.info

In a republic, the violent death of a citizen holding sensitive information should shake the foundations of its institutions. When such deaths repeat —different faces, years, and contexts, but the same backdrop of silence, impunity, and suspicion— democracy cannot look the other way.

The case of prosecutor Alberto Nisman is not alone. From officials to journalists, from bankers to whistleblowers, Argentina has seen many disappear under murky circumstances. Many had active investigations. Some held secrets. Several had broken ranks with political powers.

To say “everything might be a coincidence” is to surrender reason. We do not accuse without evidence, nor do we suggest without prudence. But we do affirm this: society has the right to know, and the State the duty to investigate, clarify and communicate transparently.

Every unresolved case is a breach of public trust. And every breach, left unrepaired, becomes silent permission for it to happen again.
